Sydney and Newcastle play out a scoreless draw.

By: Liam | September 14th, 2008

After all the pre match antics and the mass of press garnered by the fact that two ex-Jets players would be playing against their former club, the game didnt really do much for the viewer.

Sydney played some good football in the first half, dominating in spells, although the Jets had the upper hand in the 2nd half. Corica was uncharacteristically quiet, but Cole definetely impressed me at right back.

Aloisi wasnt spectacular but im willing to give him a few more weeks before writing him off. Adam Griffiths and new signing Daniel Piorkowski were among the standouts for the Jets, as well as marquee Edmundo Zura.

Mitchell Prentice was on for 10 minutes, but still managed to pick up two yellow cards, after strongy proclaiming he would stay suspension free after missing the start of the season because of that. To be fair to him though, the two yellows were a bit harsh.
